I'd like to first direct you to this journal of a friend first before you read what I have to say on it.

However, I have my own twist on that for my own viewers.

As the way things are for me now, I can't be involved with people who aren't also content creators. I have plenty of friends offline and can't afford the time to socialize with people online unless we share artwork with eachother.

The door is open to those who draw, have the same interested, or want to create with me, because we can all get something mutual out of it.

Only after that friendship can happen.

Making new friends is a lot of responsibility. If I make too many I won't have time to be productive. The only exception is that if I make friends who either also creates content or works with people to create content for them (either through commissions or trades).

If I socialize myself with more productive people, I become a more productive person. If I socialize myself with people who just want to be friends and hang out without doing anything, I become less productive.

I hope you all understand. Its not that I don't want to be friends, its that there's way too little free time to interact with everyone unless they fill my free time with joy as well as friendship.

Well, that makes sense. It could have sounded way harsher, but you made your point rather well!
